Consistency: The Smart Marketer’s Secret Weapon

Consistency: The Smart Marketer’s Secret Weapon

Consistency defined in the Cambridge Dictionary: The quality of always behaving or performing in a similar way, or of always happening in a similar way.

In today’s video blog I talk about consistency and why it’s critical to your success online.

It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”

How to develop a consistency mind-set.

Ask yourself these questions.

Thinking about consistency

What is the most consistent action I do in my business each day?

Understanding how to become more consistent starts by looking at an area where you are already consistent. This might spark ideas or motivation.

What are my current habits around consistency?

Understanding what pulls you away from being consistent will help you plot a course for improvement.

What one action can I commit to that I will do consistently everyday to meet a goal I have for my business?

If I do that one action everyday for one year what result could I expect?

It is important to start small. Start with one small action. Consistency is a conscious habit that takes time and practice to develop.

What system ( calendar , white board, planner) can I use to help me achieve consistency?

See John C Maxwell’s definition of “Systems”  below, to help you with this.

Who can help me (accountability partner) stay focused on my daily actions?

Having someone to hold you accountable works miracles.

What is my purpose filled dream that will inspire me to work consistently toward my goals every day?

Understanding your “why”  will go a long way to helping you develop a habit of consistency.

What is a System?

Here is how John C Maxwell defines a system.

“What is a system? It’s a process for predictably achieving a goal based on specific, orderly, repeatable principles and practices. Systems leverage your time, money, and abilities. They are great tools for personal growth. Systems are deliberate, intentional and practical.”

Here is a screen shot of a “System” I use to help me meet my editorial deadlines:

A system I use for consistent action.

Asana does a lot of the heavy lifting for me.  You can get started for free. Let me know if you want to use this system. I will help you get setup.

One last word on systems:

Systems permit ordinary people to achieve extraordinary results predictably.
