  • Great post Nick

Goal setting and having a life vision. Very interesting.

You give us things that we can really sink our thoughts into and apply to our lives.

Having an overall vision of we want our life to be is very important.
It will certainly help us to stop “pulling our goals out of a hat.” A very easy thing to get caught up in doing.

    Thanks for the wonderful post.

  • Awesome post Nick!

Yes, if our goals don’t fall in naturally in our vision, then there’s a problem.

Last year I had a different kind of problem with goals, very common as well. Setting out goals and not breaking them down into smaller goals or watching their accomplishment very regularly. I missed one goal this way that I could’ve accomplished. So, I won’t make the same mistake this year.

I also completed your ‘core values’ exercises. Very interesting, once I had to narrow them down to 5 from your list!

  • I found your post very interesting. Thank you.

The only point that I would make is ‘Make your goals realistic’.

A small goal achieved every week is far more encouraging than a highly ambitious goal set for six months ahead.

    All the best.

  • Hi Adrian. I agree that goals, not your dream, but your goals did to me broken down into bit size manageable targets. And a great point that if you aren’t tracking your goals you may loose sight of them.

Thank you for doing the core value assessment. It’s been one of my most popular exercises.

  • I did write a reply Ian, but not sure what happened to it. It’s okay to have big ambitious goals but the trick is like you say, chunk them down into small manageable and doable steps. My goal was to get across the idea that you can’t make goals without having the vision.
