To Build or Not to Build an Email List

Do you still need an email list?

For Hamlet  the choice was a little starker, to choose life or death.

With all the contrary news about email marketing being dead, who can blame you for being a little confused about the question.

Add to that the need for developing skills sets to make email marketing effective, you have a right to ask why you should bother if the whole strategy is dead.

On top of that add all the misleading websites that say they will build your list when they mean something else entirely.

It’s no wonder then , that the rumors of email marketing’s death abound.

Rather than suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune of email marketing perhaps it’s better if death put the beast to rest.

The data is not as stark, but still significant when you compare sales through email marketing and through social media. Email is 3 times more effective at delivering buyers to your website than social media.

One Last Consideration.

Of all the other options, email marketing remains inexpensive.

Look at Facebook advertising which requires a fairly large investment to effectively target your audience. The price is usually beyond many beginning marketers’ budgets.

To build your email list all you will need is an autoresponder.

Just about anyone can afford to play considering the wide range of options available.

You don’t have an excuse for not building an email list.

Even those who use Facebook Advertising do so to put people on their email lists.


To build or not to build an email list?

I think it’s better to brave: “the slings and arrows of outrageous email fortune , than to let your list die.

I can’t imagine life, my business and personal, without it.
