How Do You View Spell Games In TE’s

spell games

This morning I posted to the Facebook group on Traffic Exchanges about the use of spelling games on TE’s and asked for people’s opinions about these little letter games.

The reason for the post came from reading an article in Success Magazine that talk about how easy it is to use the default setting, rather than being creative and innovative and doing something differently. Here is a quote by way of example:

“The hallmark of originality is rejecting the default and exploring whether a better option exists. ”

While I read the article Traffic Exchanges in general came to mind and in particular the spelling games, where every so many pages you click to reveal a new letter that will eventually spell out a phrase or word and your reward for doing so is a few extra credits.

I’m guessing,  but I am sure someone will set me straight it I’m wrong, that this is a standard plugin for Traffic Exchange scripts that can then be modified to suit the theme of the TE.

I generally find them uninteresting, boring, and contribute very little to my over all experience at a TE. I certainly don’t miss them at TE’s that don’t use them.

This got me to wondering how you feel about them or if you  care one way or another.

I’ve commission a poll…well actually I just created one. I thought it would be fun to see how you feel.

How do you feel about the word spell games on TE's?

  • I used to ignore them when I surfed more than I do these days. Now I rarely surf more than 2-3 TEs at the same time and if the countdown is long I click on these sort of bonuses, knowing they give away credits or other bonuses that I can use in the future.

On the creative side, yes, default behavior isn’t something I’m big about. But it doesn’t even have to be a custom add-on. Something interesting can be added through the message itself. Maybe used for branding upgraded members (not my idea, already seen it out there), include hints, tips and tricks or short testimonial messages that would actually be worth unveiling and reading?

  • Hi Adrian, Thanks for your comment on the word games in TE’s. I am curious about how people feel about them which is why I did the poll.

I agree that you don’t have to do everything as a custom add on, but the moment you start changing the default settings you are moving into creative space, and there you have an opportunity to add your personality and branding to make something different that stands out. Something like Adrian’s Hub for instance.
