The Werewolf Made Me Do It: Your Weekend Read #1

“I don’t have time to read because: (paste in generic excuse) try this one.

“A werewolf tossed me against a giant packing crate while I was trying to rescue a frightened young girl who’d been kidnapped by an evil witch and a drug lord.”
? Patricia Briggs,

Which is my way of introducing yet another new feature for my blog which for now I am calling, “Your Weekend Read” and published every Saturday.

In this feature I will give you the top five best-selling books in various categories related to business and self-development. I’ve taken a gander at Amazon which will give me enough material so that I don’t have to repeat a list very often.  I will also feature something from one of the books on the list. Either I will do a review or include a YouTube video as I’ve done here, or a news clip or other brilliantly creative ideas.

This weeks list is

1.Excuses Begone!: How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits by Wayne Dyer

2.10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Actually Works–A True Story by Dan Harris

3.The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

4. The Soulmate Experience: A Practical Guide to Creating Extraordinary Relationships
by Mali Apple

5.Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes into Stepping Stones for Success By John Maxwell

Anyone Interested?

If there is interest I would be willing to host a reading club on Spreecast. Jon Olson use to do this for a while late Saturday afternoon. He use to do a whole book at a time. But suppose we pick a book and do a chapter a week with discussion and analysis  each Saturday. Let me know.

And finally:

Reading Quote of the Week.

“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”

That’s a wrap.

Have a good weekend.

Go on an adventure: Read a Book.

  • Wayne Dyer is one of my favorite Nick. I watch his videos on You Tube regularly as well. I have read the Alchemist – really enjoyed it – but not the others. Great list!
